Wedding at Red Barn at Outlook Farm in South Berwick, Maine
Rain has a way of rewriting a wedding day in the most unexpected, perfectly imperfect way—and Maddie and Dan’s celebration at Red Barn at Outlook Farm was the kind of story only weather & love could tell.
A sea of clear umbrellas very quickly became part of the story. The groomsmen were absolute champs and took charge of this task. Through it all, Maddie was so calm and never once flinched at the forecast. Just full of grace and joy. Rain or shine, she was there for Dan.
Their first look took place in downtown Portsmouth, framed by a brick building covered in English ivy. Dan lit up the second he saw Maddie—huge smile, tears in his eyes, completely overwhelmed in the best way.
Back at the Red Barn, the ceremony moved inside without missing a beat. The original outdoor plan gave way to warm wood beams, glowing string lights, and a beautiful ceremony that felt genuine and meaningful.
Cocktail hour under the covered porch was the perfect spot for guests to mingle as they watched the rain fall on the golf course. The laughter and joy was loud, and Maddie and Dan at the center of it all, surrounded by so much love.
One of my favorite moments of the day—the sky cleared and the sun broke through the clouds. Maddie and I caught eyes and instantly knew what the other was thinking. She grabbed Dan, and we ran outside to soak it all in and capture some of my favorite photos of just the two of them around the property. It was the kind of golden-hour gift that makes you believe the day was unfolding exactly as it was meant to.
And the party? Unreal. The band was electric. The dance floor shook—literally. Feet pounding, arms in the air, the whole room alive. You could feel the joy vibrating through the floorboards and into your chest. So. Much. Fun!!
A little rain, a lot of heart, and a love that made everything feel just right.
