Favorite Wedding Moments of 2019
Another amazing wedding season has come to a close and I finally have a chance to blog about some of my favorite wedding photos and moments of 2019. I truly feel like the luckiest girl to meet so many wonderful people and be such a special part of each & every wedding I photograph. This season is full of laughter & tears, beautiful moments, meaningful hugs & of course plenty of beautiful landscapes throughout Maine & New Hampshire. I get to document it all! Each couple shares so much with me and lifelong connections are made.
It was so hard to narrow down my favorite Maine & NH wedding photographs and limit to just a few from each wedding, but here it is! From Kara & Chris’s magical Sebago Lake boat ride to the emotional first look of Francesca & Ryan. So many special moments and so many wonderful couples.
A special thank you to my amazing second photographers Alicia & Veronique who were by my side and helped create some stunning photos of their own.
I’ll start with one of my favorite first Looks of all times. Ryan & Francesca were just the sweetest and this first look is simply magic. Francesca tapped Ryan on his shoulder and I will never forget the instant tears of joy when he saw her in her gown. It wasn’t long before we were all crying and the wedding photographs are so emotional. I love that these two had this special moment to embrace and see each other before their ceremony. If you have not considered doing a first look I would highly recommend it! You can view more photos from Francesca & Ryan’s York Golf & Tennis Club Wedding HERE.
I will never forget the look of pure joy on Kara & Chris’s faces as they jumped aboard the antique Chris-Craft boat after they said their nuptials. They looked back at their family & friends with huge smiles & waves as they enjoyed a toast. This Migis Lodge wedding was nothing short of spectacular and the evening photos out on the dock overlooking the lake were just beautiful.
A few more beautiful memories from Kara & Chris’s special day at Migis Lodge. I adore this photo of Kara sitting in the boat waiting for a ride to the ceremony site. Kara rode over with her mother and this shot was taken just before Kara’s Mom entered the boat. I can’t get over how beautiful she looks as her veil is backlit by the sun and you can see the blue water of the lake. Kara looks so calm as she waits for her mother to board.
Kara & her mom are very close and I loved this special embrace between them as they walk to greet Chris who is patiently waiting. There is nothing like a mother’s love and this photo says it all. To view more wedding photography from Kara & Chris’s Migis Lodge wedding click HERE.
Another magical moment that still gives me all the feels. Shelby & Alex opted not to do a first look but it was very important they have some sort of meeting before the ceremony without seeing each other. Shelby knew that just a simple touch from Alex would calm her nerves before she walked down the isle. The expressions on their faces says it all. Alex with a huge smile and Shelby holding back tears. These two are truly special and their wedding at York Harbor Reading Room was beyond beautiful.
There were so many beautiful moments here are a few more from Shelby & Alex’s wedding day. I was so excited we had some time after dinner to head out to York Harbor Beach for another private moment at dusk. The sky is simply stunning and loved getting their reaction taking in all the beauty of their day as they walked along the waters edge and practiced their first dance. The next photo is from one of my favorite fall weddings this year. I LOVE the BHLDN dresses Paige chose for her ladies and they all look stunning as they walk down the pier together.
Here are a few of my favorites from Jacob & Paige’s Pepperrell Cove wedding in Kittery Point Maine. I’m so happy we snuck down the ramp for these beautiful wedding photos just before the tide made it really tricky to get out there. The walk down was quite steep and it was such of feeling of accomplishment when Paige made it down safely in her heels! They embraced for a kiss and I love how they were ever so slightly highlighted by the setting sun in the distance. I love the shadows and highlights created by the pier and the hull of the boat peeking out in the background. Just so natural and pretty! You can view more from Page & Jacobs wedding day HERE.
Marissa & Nick fell in love with their wedding venue as soon as they saw the gorgeous ceremony site in a secluded grove. Wedding guests were gathered in a circle around Nick & Marissa as they said their heartfelt wedding vows and this particular picture melts my heart every time. There’s just something about a rooftop glow overlooking the Portland skyline. Lisa & Peter held their wedding reception at Bayside Bowl in Portland Maine. One may think this is an interesting choice for a wedding reception but it was the perfect choice for Lisa & Peter. Bayside Bowl offers a super trendy, hip & laid back atmosphere and this rooftop deck is to die for! Many of Lisa’s family members flew in from Japan and and what better way to bridge a language barrier than to bowl! After dinner we had some downtime and snuck up to the rooftop deck for some evening shots. I always love this time of the wedding night and Lisa & Peter look so natural and happy in these wedding photos. To view more from Lisa & Peters Portland, Maine wedding click HERE.
I was so happy when Leigh & Roland told me they wanted to head to Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport, Maine for wedding photography. There were so many favorites from this day it was hard to narrow down to only two but here they are. The sky was so blue and contrasted so beautifully with the white clouds. So many fun wedding moments with Leigh, Roland and their wedding party at the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust. To view them all click HERE.
Some of my favorite wedding moments are during the ceremony when I can capture an unexpected moment. In this photo Francesca’s bridesmaids are full of smiles and her oldest sister is full on laughing. I wish I could remember what was so funny at this very moment and love that it was captured!
Another very special first look at Kate & Ian’s Viewpoint Hotel wedding in York, Maine. A very emotional moment as Kate’s sister wipes away the tears as Kate heads off to meet Ian down by the water’s edge. Sisters have such a special bond and this wedding photo says it all. And we’re back to Francesca & Ryan’s wedding day at York Golf & Tennis club in York, Maine. One of my all time favorite wedding photographs is when this insanely gorgeous couple departs their wedding ceremony. They are both beaming with joy!!
My last favorite wedding photograph from 2019 is from Christina & Joe’s Cliff House wedding in Cape Neddick, Maine. Their wedding ceremony was outdoors overlooking the ocean on a cold & windy October day. After the ceremony we had planned to photograph a few more family photos but Joe & Christina had other plans. They wanted to get inside and warm up and I couldn’t blame them. Sometimes as wedding photographers we have to be prepared for the unexpected. Sometimes these unexpected moments make for the best wedding photography. I love this very sweet moment when these adorable flower girls followed quickly behind carrying Christina’s veil.
